Thank God I Have A Lot To Be Thankful For
I never seem to have a problem coming up with things to be thankful for. I have a wonderful wife, Delia, of 32 years who is loving, understanding and nurturing. She gave me two sons, Tommy and Joey, who have managed to make me proud in various ways throughout the years. My daughter-in-law, Niki, is a beautiful, caring wife and mother. A grandfather couldn’t ask for two better grandsons than my Jaden and Rylan.
I’m also thankful that my mother has come to stay with us, even if just for an extended vacation. I left home, to join the Air Force, at 19 and have pretty much been gone for 35 years with only infrequent visits back home. Therefore, I haven’t had much time to spend with my mother and I’m learning a lot about her and the family in Philadelphia that I didn’t know before. Some of it is even good.
Thankfully, everyone is in reasonably good health and have most of what they need, if not everything they want. I’m thankful that I have a job in todays economy, in fact since last Monday, I’ve had two. We all have a good roof over our heads and little to worry about, at least for the near future.
We’ll have a full house tonight with everyone coming over for turkey. I just hope they are not real hungry because I want plenty of left over turkey, for sandwiches later on. I intend to ask mom to say the prayer this evening. She’ll say she doesn’t know what to say and then she’ll say plenty.
So Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and I’m sure if you think about it, you have plenty to be thankful for as well.
