Home & Family,
Special Events
I never seem to have a problem coming up with things to be thankful for. I have a wonderful wife, Delia, of 32 years who is loving, understanding and nurturing. She gave me two sons, Tommy and Joey, who have managed to make me proud in various ways throughout the years. My daughter-in-law, Niki, is a beautiful, caring wife and mother. A grandfather couldn’t ask for two better grandsons than my Jaden and Rylan.
I’m also thankful that my mother has come to stay with us, even if just for an extended vacation. I left home, to join the Air Force, at 19 and have pretty much been gone for 35 years with only infrequent visits back home. Therefore, I haven’t had much time to spend with my mother and I’m learning a lot about her and the family in Philadelphia that I didn’t know before. Some of it is even good.
Thankfully, everyone is in reasonably good health and have most of what they need, if not everything they want. I’m thankful that I have a job in todays economy, in fact since last Monday, I’ve had two. We all have a good roof over our heads and little to worry about, at least for the near future.
We’ll have a full house tonight with everyone coming over for turkey. I just hope they are not real hungry because I want plenty of left over turkey, for sandwiches later on. I intend to ask mom to say the prayer this evening. She’ll say she doesn’t know what to say and then she’ll say plenty.
So Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and I’m sure if you think about it, you have plenty to be thankful for as well.
I know you’ve been wondering where you were going to get all the great gifts that your friends and family will enjoy. Well look no further! By visiting some of my 94 sites, you can find everything you need to grant everyones holiday wishes.
For the gamers in your life you can purchase Xbox, Playstation and Wii systems. In fact you may want to get a Wii system for yourself. You can do so much with it, including getting in shape.
The sports enthusiast need not do without either. We have everything from tennis to skydiving including skiing, swimming and cat fishing.
Do you know somebody who loves everything to do with the great outdoors? Maybe they would like something in the camping section and while they are camping perhaps a little salmon fishing would be in order. If they just like to see and feel the world around them bird watching may be their cup of tea.
Home decoration may be just the thing for someone who just got their first house or apartment. You can choose from glassware, carpets and furniture to help them get started.
Fitness is a big thing these days. Well, you can get a lot of the things you need right here. What do you want to know about; Yoga, whey, getting those six-pack abs or relaxing with aromatherapy. If you’d prefer a new diet or vitamin supplements then we have those also.
I could go on and on, but I’m tired of creating all those links to make your life easier. Instead, just look to the right and click on one of the titles under “LINKS” and it will take you to more of my interesting sites. Once there, look at what’s being offered in the eBay or Amazon section and choose the gift you want. In fact chose lots and lots of gifts. Buy all you want. Spend all of your money.
See, you are just as broke as if you had spent several days driving from store to store and wasting all that gas and time. You’re welcome!!
Here we are, celebrating another 4th of July. This is a time not only for celebration, but let’s remember what the 4th means to us as Americans.
We should remember that our founding fathers fought for our independence from British rule to give us more rights and freedoms. These freedoms were meant for us as individuals, not the freedom of the government to impose it’s will on us.
I know it’s hard putting it all together as you watch the news each night. That’s mostly because there is so much going on in the world , that little coverage is given to any one subject. But if you think about a particular subject that just makes your blood boil, you can start putting two and two together.
My main concern is taxes. So every time I watch a news program I listen for the government decisions that include raising my taxes. Taxes on certain unhealthy foods, taxes on employer benefits, cell phone usage, as well as raising taxes on alcohol, tobacco and gasoline.
Maybe your particular interest goes to education, the environment, health care, employment or some other area. But if you listen carefully and focus on your subject of interest you will hear the proposals for change. Change that includes more involvement by our government and less control for you.
I think it’s important that we all know something about how our constitution is supposed to protect us, as well as how our government violates parts of it for their own benefit almost everyday.
So follow this link to our constitution, www.law.cornell.edu/constitution and see what it’s all about. Don’t read it all at once but do read it.
So while you are celebrating, reflect on why you are able to celebrate today. Happy 4th!!
